Item Description

A rarely seen example of the calcium silicate Wollastonite from this well-known locality in Riverside County, California. This mineral is found all over the world, but I can't remember having a piece from Crestmore to offer. This mineral is the species of the Wollastonite Group. This specimen features soft pinkish-white colored "needle"-like crystals in semi-"jackstraw"-like groups on matrix. If you're a California mineral collector, be sure to pick this one up. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#792). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
