Spessartine Garnet on Baveno Twinned Microcline

Item Description

This piece features small (about 2 mm) sharp, lustrous, gemmy, strong orange trapezohedral crystals of Spessartine Garnet sitting atop a cream colored "Baveno" twinned Microcline crystal. The color in the Spessartine crystals is very attractive, and they are not at all dull or pitted. In my experience, it is difficult to find isolated Spessartine crystals on matrix from this locality. I haven't seen many "Baveno" twins of Microcline from the locality, especially one with such a lovely coverage of Spessartines.
