Item Description

A RARELY seen matrix specimen of Brazilianite from the type locality. Not only is this a matrix specimen, but it actually features two GEM quality, brilliant yellow-green colored, sharp, well-formed, lustrous monoclinic crystals measuring up to 1.5 cm. One of the crystals is nearly 100% WATER CLEAR, and the other is still very gemmy, which is rare for the species. This is OLD material, dating back several decades and certainly eye-catching and much higher quality than most on the market now. If you collect gem crystals, Brazilian minerals or phosphates, don't miss out on this showy and fine quality display specimen. The piece comes from the collection of Frank M. Levy and is accompanied by two labels from legendary New York mineral dealer, Larry Conklin. The piece was originally priced at $1,850, but certainly worth more today, I would say around $3,000 retail.
