Item Description

Some of the most well-known species from the Franklin Mining District in New Jersey are Rhodonite, Willemite, Franklinite, Zincite and Calcite. These minerals make up the "Franklin Ore", and are instantly recognizable for their coloring and beautiful fluorescence. This is a classic association specimen of featuring pinkish Rhodonite with brownish-beige colored crystals of Williemite and reddish Zincite with associated white Calcite and black Franklinite. The piece shows EXCELLENT fluorescence under UV light, as illustrated in photo showing the orange and green light show! Franklin is one of the most prolific localities in the world, and specimens like this are iconic worldwide. This piece comes with a label from the Franklin Mineral Museum.
