Item Description

Please note: This specimen was labeled originally as coming from the "Four Metals Mine", which is actually the name of a mine in Arizona, Washington and Utah, but the mine in Nevada is actually the 3 Metals Mine. With that said, this piece states that it features "Embolite" (now Bromian Chlorargyrite) on Brochantite. I can clearly see yellow globular groups of what I believe is supposed to be the "Embolite", but the variety has not been reported from this locality in any database that I can find - only Chlorargyrite has been reported. An interesting and unusual specimen from this copper lead silver producer. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11068). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
