A classic from Tsumeb! Excellent, sharp, highly lustrous, rich emerald green color trigonal crystals of Dioptase measuring up to 4 mm are sitting on sparkling, vitreous crystals of Calcite on matrix to create a beautiful two-tone effect. These are some of the most iconic specimens from this storied locality. This piece is in great shape overall, and looks beautiful up close! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6665). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
