Quartz included with Rutile (ex Rolando Gioia Collection)

Item Description

Quartz is the most "inclusion friendly" mineral out there, and due to the variety of minerals that are included in Quartz, it can make for some interesting and unique gems. This specimen is from an undisclosed locality in Minas Gerais featuring a handful of very sharp, lustrous colorless Quartz crystals included with thin, acicular crystals of Rutile. You can actually see a small patch of reticulated "Sagenite" Rutile sticking out of the side of the piece! A slight amount of damage, but good shape all around.
