Item Description

A classic group of sharp, very lustrous, translucent to gemmy, bladed, grey-blue color Barite crystals with the well-known associated of reddish-brown Hematite and tan rhombic Dolomite. The Barites crystals are in decent shape (some nicks here and there) but the piece display beautifully from a few angles. The largest Barite measures 3.0 cm long. A wonderul overall specimen from one of the most classic world localities for Barite hands down. Probably mined during the late 1800's. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#434). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
