Randomly oriented rich cornflower-blue, highly lustrous, glassy kyanite blades are aesthetically set on all three sides of this sculptural large kyanite and quartz from recent finds at this famous locale. The striking jackstraw placement of the blades, to 10.0 cm, really adds character to this very fine large example. A 2.5 cm section of a glassy reddish-brown mineral (staurolite? - rare from here) on the back adds pizzazz. Choice material of a common species that often just does not come out in specimen grade quality. The piece displays very well without aid.
