Item Description

Tabular, lustrous, metallic pseudocubic acanthite crystals, to 1.0 cm, are aesthetically clustered in a couple of areas on the sculptural oxide tinted quartz matrix on this showy old-timer from the classic locale. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 8984 and acquired from the Lidstroms at the 1980 Tucson Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Well-crystallized acanthite is RARE from Schneeberg compared to the nearby Freiberg District.
