Item Description

Kongsbergite, named after the famous Kongsberg silver mines, is a silver variety with about 5-10 % mercury. A 3.1 x 2.7 cm dense latticework of arborescent, spinel-twinned crystals is nicely placed on the contrasting blocky red jasper matrix. Ex Raul Sanabria Collection and is from the late 1990s finds. This is an excellent, rich and showy combination from this well-known Spanish silver mine. Kongsbergite is rare worldwide.
