Item Description

Mimetite is RARE from the historic mines at Pribram. This is an extraordinarily rich and sculptural, coral-shaped solid specimen of tightly intergrown nubby spherical "campylite" aggregates of tiny, translucent straw-yellow to olive-green crystals with scattered gray coatings. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only one point of attachment and very few bruised crystals, for all of the crystal density. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1224 and acquired from Sol Shale in the late 1950s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Very rich, rare and remarkable Pribram mimetite from a classic locale with every turn presenting a different perspective. An important museum-quality specimen.
