Item Description

An impressive, rich and RARE large calcite plate from this famed historic Mexico silver district and the Remedios Mine. This aesthetic plate of frosted, translucent, dogtooth scalenohedrons is highlighted by TWO rare different styles of calcite twins! The striking, sharp, 5.8 cm, fishtail-twinned crystal dominates the piece. The upper left side hosts a 3.0 cm, classic butterfly-twin next to a 3.8 cm dogtooth crystal. The large twin is pristine. The piece is in great shape, overall, with just a few gently bruised or contacted tips. Pink fluorecence. Probably from the 1960s to 80s, but no proof. Exceptional and RARE style large Taxco calcite Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection.
