Item Description

A striking and sculptural example of the rare and fantastic looking calcite from an unknown locale near Chenzhou City. This surreal 360-degree calcite looks like a forest of flocked Christmas trees! The "trees" are composed of a myriad of highly lustrous, glassy, translucent, stepped-growth nailhead calcite rhombs. The scattered dark "ornaments" are oxide-coated pyrite octahedrons. Each "tree" is crowned with a nailhead spar gem ornament at the top, super accents. Complete all-around. The front is pristine. A few white spots lower on the front are secondary overgrowths, not damage. The attachment is at the base and lower on the back. Bright pink fluoresecence. From a new small lot we received and this is about the most complex one. A must for the species or locality collector. Valued at $800-1000 for size and complexity.
