Item Description

A remarkable and RARE matrix amethyst specimen from the Brnadberg Park area near the more productive Goboboseb Mts localities. Most amethyst/smoky quartz specimens from here have little or no matrix. The striking crystal cluster rests on a matrix covered with RARE, very sharp, pearlescent feldspar crystals, to 1.7 cm (doubly terminated). The dramatic, sculptural, well-placed, 4.2 cm, cluster of parallel-growth crystals with multiple steeples is stunning in its beauty. Darker grape-purple amethyst fantastically, preferentially highlights the termination and prism face edges of the glassy transparent to translucent crystals! A striking, nearly pristine 360-degree cluster, with only gentle bruising to the tip of the lowest crystal. Three smaller amethyst points among the feldspars are fine accessories to this very rare and fine matrix specimen from the Rob Sielecki Collection. Contacting/bruising at the base and to the matrix on side of the cluster are out-of-sight in the fine primary display views. Value of the rare matrix specimen??
