Item Description

Glorious, sharp rich purple edge phantoms cover the amber cores with white patches on the aesthetically intergrown glassy, transparent to translucent fluorite cubes with satin lustre faces. The two impressive large cubes are 5.6 and 4.8 cm on edge. This is a striking, sculptural and colorful color-zoned fluorite from recent finds at this classic old Weardale area lead and fluorite mine. This fine piece has two fine display views and is minimally impacted by the corner bruise on the second largest cube and the trival bit of edge wear to the large cube. There are more smaller cubes on the bottom/back as a bonus. RICH purple fluorescence, as you would expect. The piece is illustrated in the MINDAT Photo Gallery for the locale with a photo by Dr. Stephen Moreton. Classic and excellent fluorite from the historic Greenlaws Mine collected in 2002.
