Item Description

This is the finest wodginite we recently received. Wodginite is a rare multiple oxide with Manganese, Tin and Tantalum. It is typically found in zoned pegmatites in amphibolite, a metamorphic rock that contains hornblende, actinolite and plagioclase (WIKIPEDIA). Specimens are VERY RARE from near the famous Golconda Mine. Most of the sharply terminated complete all-around prism has splendent lustre above the matte metallic lustre corroded base. A RARE and uncommonly fine example from this famous well-known area. The sharp form of the crystal is noteworthy. This is something you just never see for sale...and we think should be valued well north of $1000, but can auction here as it came in a lot deal. The species has been SEM and X-ray confirmed.
