Item Description

Stibnite specimens are VERY RARE from the famous Cripple Creek District of Colorado. This sculptural fan-like miniature spray of brilliant metallic-gray lathes is from the long extinct Mary McKinney Mine, from where specimens of any species are very uncommon. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 11863 and acquired from the Cisneros' at Tucson in 1989. Previously in the Ernest Holloway Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). A remarkable, rare and rich Colorado stibnite from Cripple Creek and a MUST for the locality or species collector.
