Item Description

Super rich, solid crystallized multi-colored pyromorphite on this impressive small cabinet floater specimen from the famed Bunker Hill Mine. Most of the piece is covered with striking, tiny, scintillating, gemmy, yellow-green hexagonal barrels. Scattered patches of larger, third-generation lustrous, brown barrels, to 7 mm, plus first-generation spherical aggregates of orange arsenian pyromorphite make for an exemplary 3-generation 360-degree specimen. Modest scattered bruising has minimal impact to the overall excellent quality of this piece. The specimen is from the first major 1981 finds, acquired by Wayne Sorenson and sold to Harvey Gordon. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 9431 and acquired from Harvey Gordon in February, 1982 at the Tucson Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Classic first find Bunker Hill 3-generation pyromorphite.
