VERY RARE barite on an unusual style and color of rhodochrosite from the Manuelita Mine. Two clusters of lustrous, translucent, parallel-growth barite blades are prominently perched on the sculptural mounded rhodochrosite crystal matrix. The sharp, lustrous, unusually tapered lozenge-like rhombs, to 2.0 cm, have a rare terra cotta-red hue. The large bladed barite cluster is 3.7 cm across. Rare, perhaps unique, rhodochrosite with barite from this mine from the W.S. Logan Collection # X41-1. Valued at $800-1000 for combination rarity and quality.
