Item Description

An aesthetic and sculptural crust composed entirely of lustrous, translucent, bi-colored, orange-brown and olive-green, textbook hexagonal crystals. The prisms reach 8 mm and many have accenting hoppered terminations. This small Pb-Ag-F-V-Mo-Cu mine produced sporadically from the early 1900s to about 1952 with occasional later mineral collecting. This piece came from a 1998 find. The vannies resemble pyromorphite and this is an excellent and rich example of the species and locale from an Arizona collection of Bruce Murphy
