Item Description

A dramatic, sculptural and aesthetic intergrown cluster of amethyst/smoky quartz scepters from this well-known Brandberg area locale. The Tafelkopf is noted for fine sceptered quartz specimens and this is an outstanding 360-degree and pristine small cabinet. The crystals are very glassy and are predominately water-clear. The luscious variable grape-purple color is mostly in the stalks with the scepters being smokies. A few termination faces have striking skeletal features adding real pizzazz. The adorable 2.3 cm scepter on one side is entirely amethyst. Ex Francesco Bedogne Colllection # 2256. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector. Read his biography in the Mineralogical Record Biographical Archive: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=118. This very fine piece has 360-degree presence and is MUCH BETTER in person! Valued at $600-750.
