Item Description

Natrolite and apophyllite are both RARE from the area around this old, well-known Czech site (see below for added text info). Pretty pastel-pink, sparkly spherical aggregates of natrolite blades richly cover the large volcanic matrix. A cluster and scattered single apophyllite crystals are fine, contrasting and typical accessories. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2003 and acquired in the 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Undoubtedly old material, but no proof. VERY RARE, rich, old and showy combination Zeolite Group material from this locale. NOTE ADDED: Marianska Hora is a hill and famous Phonolithe quarry in the town Usti nad Labem (Aussig an der Elbe) Hora means hill!
