Unusual two-toned Rhodochrosite xls (Logan Coll.)

Unusual color-zoned rhodochrosite rhombs cover this rich and showy miniature plate from this well-known Peruvian mine. The lustrous, translucent rhombs, to 8 mm, are mostly pretty pastel-pink, a typical hue for the locale. Many of the rhombs have unusual darker, gemmier centers, which really adds unique character to this excellent piece. From W.S. Logan Rhodochrosite Collection. This is a rare style of rhodo from here and is from a limited 2006 find.
