Item Description

Outstanding, very rich and aesthetic hemimorphite from famed Mina Ojuela. Glassy, highly lustrous, sheaf-like aggregates of subparallel crystals cover the thin sturdy sculptural, triangular gossan matrix crust. The superb mounded ball-like cluster is 5.0 x 4.3 cm. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2887 and acquired from George Holloway in the early 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). A superb example from the 1960s finds, with very few coming out since 1970.
