Item Description

A dramatic, highly sculptural and unusual wulfenite specimen from the famous Erupcion/Ahumada Mine at Los Lamentos. Glassy, butterscotch-colored wulfenite windowpanes, to 6 mm, are selectively festooned or peppered on the fantastic artistic matrix of intergrown sections of brecciated sugary limestone onyx plates. There are more wulfies hidden behind the large disk, as a bonus. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1176 and acquired from Scott Williams in the late 1950s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). RARE style, aesthetic, old-time wulfenite combination material from Los Lamentos.
