Item Description

Digenite, copper sulfide, is a signature species from Butte, with the world's finest examples coming from here. This rich miniature plate is covered with oxide-coated typical trigonal digenite crystals. Scattered bright pyritohedrons are a nice contrast and accessory. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 7792 and acquired at the 1975 Detroit Show from the Lidstrom's. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
