Item Description

A fine 2-piece suite of native silver specimens with different composition from this famous Cobalt silver mine, that operated from 1907 to 1940. The sculptural larger piece, 53 grams mass, is a thin solid vein plate of nubby silver with an acanthite coating. The embedded quartz matrix on both sides adds contrast and pizzazz. The very light weight smaller piece, 5 grams mass, is a solid nest of densely intergrown small spinel-twinned silver crystals. A fine representation of different silver forms from this classic locale from the Ted Bartels Collection.
