Item Description

An exceptional, sculptural and rich small cabinet from the classic, but now hard to obtain, source of the San Carlos Mine of Chihuahua, Mexico. Striking enechelon clusters of lustrous, variable brown, textbook hexagonal, vanadinite prisms to about 1.0 cm cover all sides of this striking 3-dimensional piece. Richly scattered glassy, colorless calcite rhombs are a super accessory. Complete all-around and pristine. This is a RARE (especially the calcite), combination specimen in this quality and crystal form. These came out in the 1960s and 70s, with none since. This piece has a fine provenance, having been in the collections of Bill Sanborn and Jack Halpern (prominent California collectors) and the James Zigras Mexico Collection, a well-known East Coast collector. Valued at $1000-1500. The CURVED vannie crystal clusters are remarkable.
