Item Description

Rich purple translucent fluorite cubes, to 2.2 cm, with silky luster faces are very aesthetically set on the mounded matrix of preferentially oxide-tinted drusy quartz points. This is a classic style and color of fluorite from the famous mines at Bingham. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 9492 and acquired from Willard Perkin at the 1982 Tucson Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). The cubes have a beautiful rich glow, when back lit and this excellent piece has multiple fine display views.
