Item Description

Mineral specimens are RARE from this old vein in the famous Rogerley Quarry (Rogerley Mine and Diana Maria Mine). This impressive and rich large specimen is covered on two sides with beautiful and striking bi-colored gem, interpenetrating fluorite crystal clusters. The very glassy and lustrous pairs, to 1.6 cm, have characteristic green cores with purple perimeters. A nifty BONUS on the limestone matrix back is area of fossilized shell hash, that includes a 8 mm valve from a brachiopod or mollusc! BRIGHT purple fluorescence! Excellent, rich and rare large fluorite from the locale from the Dr. Stephen Moreton Collection and collected in 2002.
