Item Description

This classic and aesthetic Tsumeb anglesite miniature is dominated by the striking large 3.0 cm crystal. The very glassy, adamantine luster intergrown crystals have textbook form. We believe the crystals are possibly included with the rare Pb-Fe silicate Melanotekite. A myriad of tiny ameoba-like bladed clusters are richly included in the large crystals. The crystals would have to be analysed to confirm the ID. Ex Kay Robertson Collection. Her label was lost during the move. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Melanotekite in anglesite combination specimens are VERY RARE and desirable from Tsumeb! Valued at $1000.
