Item Description

A wonderful specimen featuring a handful sharp, GEM / gemmy, notably COLORLESS "ice" cubes of Fluorite from this famous locality in Spain. The largest Fluorite crystal measures 3.2 cm on edge. VERY minor imperfections, but it's SO gemmy with the beautifully colorless crystals, that you can barely notice. The back of the crystals are actually partially recrystallized, so the piece is mostly complete all around. According to mindat.org, "During December of 2001 in the La Collada area of Asturias, Spain, a series of pockets of Fluorite was found. Physically they were found very close to another old find in the "El Reguerun" area, but luckily the color of these specimens is better than those from the previous find. More intense, with a spectacular color change from sky blue to mauve depending the kind of light. Their luster is better too. As is quite common in the La Collada area these specimens show naturally modified corners." A very attractive Fluorite specimen from this well known Fluorite producing district. This piece was valued at $800 in the inventory.
