Item Description

Scorodite is known from only a select few localities around the world in exceptional specimens. I would say that after Legrandite, the most desirable species from the famous Ojuela Mine is Scorodite. This piece is a classic old time specimen of this ELUSIVE material featuring sharp, fine, highly lustrous, rich blue colored crystals to about 3 mm on matrix. These are treasured by collectors, and incredibly hard to obtain today. One of the great classics from any locality in Mexico! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10786). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
