Pyrite w/ Sphalerite (2012 find)

Item Description

A striking, sculptural pyrite specimen from a small 2012 find at this less well-known mine. Sharp, splendent, mirror-bright, brass-yellow cubes, to 3.2 cm, dramatically rest atop a field of smaller pyrites. The striated faces add pizzazz and a remarkable features is that you can see the reflection of smaller crystals in the face of the large cube on the right. Complete all-around, the back is richly covered with clusters of tiny sparkly sphalerite crystals. The bit of bruising to the large cubes and lower frontal periphery wear are noted, but are certainly only modest detractions. A very fine pyrite with accessories from this locale. Valued at $750-900.
