Item Description

Radiant clusters of brilliant metallic golden Millerite needles growing on a slab of matrix. The needles are hard to measure individually, but the longest I can find is about 8 mm. You almost never find them in such dense and attractive habits. Quite an unusual and attractive specimen for the species. The label states that it's associated with Sphalerite, but the species does not seem to be present on the piece, and is not reported from the locality. This is an old classic locality, and few pieces turn up on today 's market. Charlie Key loved it and had an Aussie Millerite suite in the drawers. Ex Charlie Key personal collection. Charlie is arguably the most sucessful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
