Item Description

An impressive, very rich and rare large two-sided combination specimen from circa 2000 finds at this famous mine. Scintillating nubby clusters of tiny, lustrous, brown hubeite crystals (a Ca-Mn-Fe silicate, UNIQUE to the Fengjiashan Mine), burnt-orange inesite crystals and sparkling glassy apophyllite prisms cover the front of the of the piece. Calcite rhombs peer out beneath the tiny crystals. A dramatic partially coated 10.5 cm terminated quartz crystal anchors the left side of this specimen. The back is DRAMATICALLY different as it is covered with blocky, lustrous, translucent, gray included calcite rhombs, to 2.3 cm, with frosted faces! Ex Ted Bartels Collection. Large hubeite, inesite and apophyllite combinations with a large quartz crystal of this richness and quality are RARE. Very choice combination material. NOW IMPOSSIBLE to get on the market. Valued $1000-1500.
