Item Description

A true classic from Southern Illinois. Fine quality, sharp, prismatic, lustrous, gemmy light blue crystals of Celestine sitting on cubic rich purple color Fluorite from the famous Annabel Lee Mine. The Celestine crystals measure up to 7 mm long, and the largest Fluorite measures 5 mm on edge. The piece is crystallized on the front and back and is superb quality all around. When backlit, the Fluorites GLOW with color and make for such a stunning contrast to the sky blue Celestine crystals. A few of the Celestines are so gemmy that they are WATER CLEAR in areas, which is not common for the material. It is uncommon to find isolated crystals of fine quality Celestine on Fluorite like this from the mines in Hardin County, and this is one of the showiest and eye-catching specimens of the association that we've offered. From the collection of H. R. McBroom
