Item Description

A classic specimen of the most famous Rhodochrosites in the world. The Sweet Home Mine is one of the most iconic localities extant due to its production of the finest quality red rhombic Rhodochrosite out there. This piece is from the early mining done by Collector's Edge (possibly from the Hedgehog pocket) featuring a 1.3 cm, predominant, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, reddish-pink rhomb of Rhodochrosite associated with white "needle" Quartz and minor sulfides (Sphalerite, Tetrahedrite and Pyrite) on matrix. The piece is in great shape overall, and it's so hard to find solitary isolated rhombs like this on good Quartz matrix! I don't have to tell you that the value of these specimens keeps rising, and pieces like this are becoming harder to find on the market.
