Epidote (rare locality specimen) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A wonderful specimen of crystallized Epidote from the lesser known Julie Claim in Nevada. This is an older specimen, and doesn't resemble to more contemporary pieces with their "fan"-like formations and thinner crystals. The crystals on this piece are more broad with big lustrous faces and rich green color. The piece is nearly a complete "floater" as it's doubly-terminated and crystallized all the way around, but there are few incomplete spots near the base where it must have been attached to the pocket wall. When backlit, a bit of extra virgin olive olil green color can be seen on the edges. Good quality and very showy for the locality. Hard to find on the market now.
