Item Description

A showy miniature sized specimen of the now classic "red" Quartz specimens from the Orange River area. These crytals get their distinctive color from Hematite (or some other kind of iron oxide). This specimen was collected about 10-15 years ago. It features a single, sharp, lustrous prism of "red" Quartz with a textbook scepter termination. The main crystal actually has a bit of an internal "phantom" as well. Good condition, but the termination of the scepter has a tiny bit of roughness. One of the smaller crystals is actually nearly GEM quality and looks cool with the really cool orange-red hue. Ex Charlie Key collection. Charlie is arguably the most sucessful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
