Leaf Copper w/ Cuprite (Robertson Coll.)

Item Description

Brick-red cuprite richly coats both sides of this sculptural older leaf copper specimen from famed Ajo. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 568 and acquired in the early 1950s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Ajo specimens are much more uncommon compared to those from Bisbee, Morenci or other well-known Arizona locales.
