A sculptural, dramatic large agatized colonial coral with a fantastic 10.7 cm vug lined with surreal white and blue bubbly agate botryoids. The brown rind around the vug adds character and contrast. All sides of this piece show the striking densely intergrown coral tubes or openings. RARE old-time Tampa Bay agatized coral from an East Coast collection and comes with a century-old, faded, water-stained and torn label. This is one of those unusual and amazing cases where biology meets mineralogy.
