Item Description

A glorious gem topaz with a rare surprise! The limpid, very glassy partially doubly terminated crystal has fine light champagne color, water-clear to satin luster faces and classic modified pinacoidal termination edges. The scattered pearlescent cleavelandite blades hold the surprise. Two textbook hexagonal, lilac and white tabular apatite crystals, to 8 mm, are aesthetically attached to the side. Complete all-around and in great shape. Basal contacting is out-of-sight on the back and the bit of basal periphery wear on the front is certainly only a modest detraction. Bright yellow apatite and white cleavelandite fluorescence. Topaz and apatite combinations of this quality are rare and are seldom on the market. Ex Ted Bartels Collection. Fairly valued at $1750-2000.
