Item Description

Mineral specimens of ANY species are VERY RARE from this obscure Grant County, New Mexico locale. This is an extremely rare, rich, large museum quality two-sided combination matrix rib from the Tom Hale Collection. Lustrous, mottled brown pseudomorphs of limonite after sharp pyrite cubes, to 2.1 cm, richly and dramatically cover the front of the plate. For all of the crystal density, there is only one bruised pseudo. The back is strikingly different, as it is totally covered with small oxide-coated quartz points. An outstanding and RARE large New Mexico two-sided combination pseudomorph collected in 1981. A MUST for the species or locality collector.
