Item Description

An aesthetic, sculptural and uncommon combination small cabinet from famed Tsumeb. A glassy, 1.5 cm, butterscotch-colored wulfenite prism dominates the well-placed cluster of smaller wulfies accented with yellow mimetite atop the boxwork matrix of tiny sparkly quartz points. Well-crystallized quartz is uncommon at Tsumeb, compared to normally massive quartz found here. The three large wulfies atop the piece are pristine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1592, collected in 1958 and formerly in the Scott Williams Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Very showy and uncommon old-time Tsumeb combination material.
