Item Description

When somebody mentions blue Smithsonite, most collectors immediately think of the famous Kelly mine in New Mexico which has produced some of the most oustanding specimens of the species extant. This piece features a thick, beautiful blue color, vitreous layer of radiating aggregates of Smithsonite on matrix. A good representative small cabinet sized display piece of this classic material from New Mexico. Good condition, and obviously contacted around periphery where it was detached from the pocket wall.
