Item Description

An exceptional, rare and very sculptural large stalactite specimen from this obscure extinct Kolwezi District Ni-Cu-Co deposit worked during the 1940s and 1950s, and now occasionally worked for specimens. The dramatic cluster is dominated by the impressive 10.5 cm stalactite, which is complete all-around and pristine. The malachite has rich green color and a nice sparkly texture. The one broken stalactite reveals the radial growth and the hollow center tube, where the copper rich fluids flowed. This adds an element of character to this very artistic piece. This is a VERY RARE stalactite style from this mine. An outstanding malachite from the Rob Sielecki Collection, well-known Australian dealer and collector. Valued at $1500-2000.
