Item Description

As Peridot goes, the world's supply is mostly limited to Arizona, but there have been some small finds of impressive gem Peridot in Myanmar (Burma) in recent years. This material is some of the most interesting and attractive color I've seen for Peridot, and the sheer size of some of the gems that have come out is amazing. This is a truly eye-catching color for Peridot as it's mostly green with a slight yellow overtone. I have to stress that the color is slightly different in person than the photos show, and it actually has a slight metallic appearance / quality that is not often seen in this material. In fact, you rarely see Peridot gems with such a rich color like this, they're usually much more pale. It's a very good size stone from this area, combined with the fact that the stone is nearly eye clean makes it a very good gem for collectors. The cut on the stone is an "Oval Brilliant" cut, and would make a great addition to a gem collection or a set into jewelry.
