Garnet (most likely Spessartine)

Garnet comes in virtually every color of the rainbow. Typically the reddish color Spessartines are found in neighboring Tanzania, but we picked up a handful of these Kenyan stones from our source in east Africa. I've seen this material for a few months now and it is very impressive for Spessartine from the standpoint of color. This "Round Brilliant" cut gem is nearly eye clean, and has a great rich red color. I think that this is a very underappreciated gem, and this strong color is not seen very often in Spessartine so don't miss out. A great stone to fill a spot in your collection, especially if you're a Garnet collector.
